the veyron record (407km/h) was 2005
2007 reached the ssc ultimate aero 413km/h .

I remember this one, last season, but still a cracker.
The first Veyron challenge that Clarkson mentions when he raced that crappy plane was funny. Driving the car whilst on the phone (hands free) to an insurance company, and they had never heard of it and so couldn't offer him a quote, "are you sure its a car" I think the woman said.
I love this show, though I must say I think its gone downhill alittle since the Hamster had his crash.

I bet his eyes weren't the only thing that was wet!

yeah i remember it, he foned the 'quote me happy' people and they asked if it was a rover LOL
