Tutorial (Spray step by step)

Open your picture in Photoshop (i use Photoshop CS2):


Select all and copy your picture (hotkeys Ctrl+a, and Ctrl+c). In menu bar select File > New (set size to 512x512, and set Background contents to transparent):


Paste your picture to new file (hotkey Ctrl+v). Select Magic Wand tool and press to white color araund image, now you can delete this shit araund your image (hotkey Ctrl+x):


Add to your picture Blending options (Drop shadow, Emboss etc.)


Optional: if you want you can add text (nickname, clan tag etc.) or another picture


When its done resize your picture to 256x256 (Source engine spray size limit:():


Now save your file as PNG image:


In Interlace options select None:


Open VTFEdit editor and import your PNG image:


Looks shit but its allright :)


Now save your file as VTF:


Put this VTF file in Steam\SteamApps\your_name\counter-strike source\cstrike\materials\VGUI\logos folder. Start CS:S and in options select Import Sprayimage and find this VTF file in ...VGUI\logos folder. If all done right you make your first super duper spray :)

VTFEdit need .NET Framework 1.0 or higher. Make sure you have it on your PC. If not download it from Microsoft :)

you dont need vtf edit, you can get the vtf plugin for photoshop and save them as vtf's in photoshop

You right Andy. But i use VTFEdit because output file quality is much better compared with Photoshop VTF plugin output file.
