I have family and friends in Germany and they are all very sensitive and get embarrased if you mention the Nazi time. In fact the wife of a friend of mine who is a doctor in Bueckeburg, gets tears in her eyes if you bring the subject up!
Of course there is a minority who idolise the Nazi's but most people dont want to know, and Ralph may have poor taste but he is unaware of the horrors and the feelings even the young generation have so don't be too hard on him!

to accept once history is a very important point and especially the younger generations have no problems at all, making a joke here and there because everyone knows, what has happened, but it happened 60years ago and we cant continue to spend everyday acting like the third reich happened last week, because you may not know it, but beeing so hypersensitive about it caused the huge neonazi-riots in the 90's and is still causing a lot of racism to build up.

we have learned (we = about 50% of the older generations and 90% of the students) that ur only weapon in fighting the serious problem which we have here in germany - racism - is humor.
if a nazi appears in public - for example in a school - what happens often, since it is still a major issue, you should just point at him and laught.

"laughing nazis away" is a major way of fighting them e.g. during public gatherings (nazis often organize public gatherings).

so please dont missjudge me, i am about as far away from a nazi-supporter, as you can get.

@ Raph, now when you notice many peps are "getting upset" or things like that so please don't mention Hitler and the natzi german now that you know many people will "upset" and making a big deal of it, we should make a tread where you people can disscuse those things that happend, but please not in every tread.
